Description

The Drammen is the traditional-only counterpart to the Modern Series hybrid models -- built on the same all-weather composite exterior and Canadian Red Cedar interior platform, with the same Espresso finish and the same Modern Series silhouette, but configured for one thing and one thing only: a Harvia "WALL" 8kW traditional stove at its best. There is no infrared panel, no mode switching, no split circuit, and no question about which system you're in. You light the stove, you wait thirty to forty-five minutes, and you have the full-intensity traditional sauna experience in a 3-person cabin that can live outdoors year-round or inside an amenity space, a garage, or a wellness room.

 

The Drammen is a custom production unit with limited quantity available. The exterior is all-weather composite construction in an Espresso finish that requires no annual stain maintenance and handles direct outdoor exposure including rain and sun without the weathering concerns of natural wood exteriors. The interior is an entirely different story -- every surface is natural Canadian Red Cedar: walls, ceiling, bench, and backrest, kept completely natural without stain or finish because the interior must remain natural. Red cedar's aromatic oils are the defining sensory quality of this model, and they are present the moment the stove fires up. The manual notes that a small percentage of the population with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity may have an adverse reaction to Canadian Red Cedar's aroma, and advises discontinuing use if symptoms occur.

 

The stove is a Harvia "WALL" 8kW unit with built-in controls, more than adequate for the Drammen's 3-person interior. It runs on a dedicated 240V/40AMP hardwired circuit installed by a certified electrician -- and this is a key distinction from the Modern Series hybrid models. The Drammen's 40AMP stove circuit is a separate, dedicated line. The lighting and audio system runs on a completely independent 120V/15AMP outlet: the single Light/BT control panel manages the oversize chromotherapy color lighting system with red light therapy, bench accent lighting, FM radio, and Bluetooth audio through the built-in performance speakers, all independent of the stove. The control panel and speakers are located on the rear wall panel (not the right side wall panel as on the Karlstad and Nora hybrid models -- the Drammen places both on the rear wall). Upper vent is on the left side wall panel; lower vent is on the right side wall panel, both toward the front of the cabin.

 

Assembly requires three adults, a battery-operated Phillips screwdriver, rubber mallet, claw hammer, leveler, and two ladders. The Drammen is a single-bench-level model: the GDI-8203-01 uses only the first-level bench support and bench, not the two-level system of the 6-person Bergen. The exterior roof panel installs in two pieces that meet at the center; adhesive roofing paper covers the seam. The roof can hold approximately 20 pounds of snow per square inch. When installed outdoors and not in use, a waterproof cover is recommended.

• Stove Guard Included -- A wood housing assembles around the Harvia stove and mounts to the interior wall panel to protect occupants from the heater surface during sessions.
• 3-Person Capacity -- Interior dimensions of 75 inches wide by 53.4 inches deep by 75 inches tall provide comfortable seating for three adults.

INSTALLATION NOTE: Location must be dry, level, and away from any water source. Three adults are required for assembly. The surface must support the assembled weight plus occupants (can exceed 1,000 lbs). Approved base types include concrete slab, concrete pavers, gravel, cinder blocks, and solid wood deck. Note: the Drammen uses TWO separate electrical circuits -- a 240V/40AMP hardwired circuit for the Harvia stove (installed by a certified electrician) and a separate 120V/15AMP outlet for the Light/BT control panel. This is different from the hybrid models (Nora, Visby, Karlstad) which run both heating systems on a single 240V circuit. For the Harvia WALL stove, the electrician must run the power line through the vent hole in the RIGHT SIDE WALL PANEL and close the vent before mounting the heater -- the vent cannot be opened once the heater is installed. When installing the exterior roof panel, the adhesive roofing paper must be used to cover the center seam where the two roof panel pieces meet. All electrical connections must be made by a certified licensed electrician using copper wire rated at 90 degrees Celsius minimum; aluminum wiring is not permitted. Do not use the sauna during electrical storms.
