Description

The Avera 60 has a profile that sets it apart from other fire pits in the Dekko lineup: at 60 inches long and only 25.75 inches deep, it is the narrowest of the rectangular Dekko models relative to its length. That proportion is intentional. The narrower form makes the Avera 60 the closest thing in the lightweight concrete lineup to a fire table -- long enough to anchor a full seating group along its length, slim enough to fit between chairs without dominating the footprint around it, and low at 16 inches to keep the flame at a height that works for both upright patio chairs and lower lounge seating. It is a fire feature that is designed as much for the way it fits into a layout as for the flame it produces.

 

The vessel is 100% concrete, handcrafted by Dekko in North America from their proprietary ultra-light formula -- the same integral cast construction used across the entire Dekko lineup that produces a finish that will not chip, patina, or peel over time. At 175 pounds, the Avera 60 is less than half the weight of a traditional concrete fire pit at comparable dimensions, which is what makes deck, terrace, rooftop, and commercial installations viable without structural engineering concerns. Because each unit is individually handmade, natural variations in texture and color are part of the character of the piece; Dekko recommends requesting physical finish samples before finalizing a color selection. Six concrete colors are available: Ash, Charcoal, Clay, Limestone, Natural, and Sandstone. Three stone media options ship with the unit: Ivory Beachstone, Slate Beachstone, or Black Lava Rock.

 

The fire system delivers 65,000 BTU in Match Lit configuration -- a chrome key valve with adjustable flame output, no electricity required. The Electronic Ignition upgrade reaches 115,000 BTU on a 120VAC or 24VAC GFCI-protected outdoor outlet, operating in On/Off mode. The 66-inch EI power cord requires an outdoor-rated GFCI outlet that does not ship with the unit. An LP/NG convertible burner is included and ships configured for the fuel type ordered. For LP installations, the tank will not fit inside this unit -- all LP applications require an external tank with a supply line.

 

Three optional accessories are available specifically for the Avera 60: a vinyl weather cover (AVER60-VC) for weather protection between uses, a vinyl weather cover with wind guard (AVERA60-VC-WG) for installations where wind is a concern, and an aluminum tabletop lid (AVER60-TT) that converts the fire pit into a functional flat surface when not in use. The Avera 60 ships in 2 to 4 weeks via freight carrier, curbside delivery only. A certified gas technician must complete all installations. Inspect the unit upon arrival before the driver departs.

INSTALLATION NOTE: A certified gas technician must install all units. All electrical connections for EI must be made by a licensed electrician. EI requires a 120VAC or 24VAC GFCI-protected outdoor outlet -- GFCI not included. LP tank will not fit inside the Avera 60 -- an external LP tank with supply line is required. Do not block ventilation openings. For combustible surface installation, the FPI-DECK39SQ deck insulation kit is required -- concrete pad must be a minimum of 1 inch thick. Do not cover burner orifices when placing stone media. Place lava rock on the burner surface first; decorative stone is placed over lava rock. Inspect and discard stones with visible hairline cracks before placement. On first use, burn for 1 to 2 hours consecutively while keeping a safe distance in case of stone popping or cracking. Provide a minimum of 84 inches (7 feet) of clearance above the burner. Inspect unit upon freight delivery before the driver departs.
