Description

The Sedona is HPC's square hammered copper fire pit, and in the copper fire pit category that shape distinction matters. Round copper bowls read as sculptural objects -- beautiful, organic, placed. Square copper fire pits read as furniture -- they anchor a seating arrangement, define a space's edges, and work with the geometry of the outdoor living room around them in a way that round bowls don't. The Sedona at 40 by 40 inches is the largest square copper fire pit in HPC's lineup, and at that scale it is not a piece you add to a space but one that organizes the space around it.

 

The exterior is hand-hammered copper with an oil-rubbed finish -- worked by HPC Fire artisans to produce the textured surface that gives each unit its individual character, then finished with an oil treatment that enhances the depth and warmth of the raw copper tone before the natural patina begins developing with outdoor exposure over time. The tapered square profile -- 40 inches at the top, 20 inches at the 20 by 20 inch base -- gives the bowl its visual weight at the rim where it matters and keeps the footprint proportional below. The bowl is deep enough to house the Electronic Ignition control box entirely inside the vessel, which means the Sedona can be installed at ground level or column level without hardware visible above the rim. The key valve on Match Lit configurations can also be mounted inside the bowl for the same reason.

 

The fire system uses a 25-inch flat pan with an 18-inch Penta burner. HPC engineers the raised central hub on the burner specifically to prevent water entry into the gas line during outdoor exposure, and the pan includes weep holes for the same reason. Both pan and burner are 304 stainless steel. The standard EI configuration delivers 125,000 BTU at 120VAC or 24VAC; the Torpedo burner upgrade delivers 140,000 BTU at the same power requirements. Match Lit delivers 65,000 BTU regardless of burner type. The Sedona is also available as a Fire & Water bowl (SEDO40W) with an integrated scupper using 12VAC power -- the same pool-compatible low-voltage system used on the Mesa Fire & Water bowl -- for installations at pool edges or water features where a 12V system is standard.

 

Both Natural Gas and Liquid Propane are available on all configurations. Fire rock (2 bags) and fire glass (60 lbs) are included with all Sedona configurations. • The Square Copper Fire Pit in the HPC Lineup -- The Sedona is HPC's square hammered copper fire pit, positioned between the round Mesa and Tempe bowls and the rectangular Phoenix. The square format anchors a seating arrangement and works with outdoor living room geometry in a way round bowls do not.
• 40 x 40 Inch Top, 20 x 20 Inch Base, 16 Inches Tall -- The Sedona's tapered square profile measures 40 inches across the top and tapers to a 20 x 20 inch base. At 16 inches tall, the flame is at the right height for standard outdoor seating surrounding the pit on all four sides.
• Deep Bowl Design with Control Box Inside -- The Sedona is deep enough to house the Electronic Ignition control box entirely inside the bowl, allowing placement at ground level or column height without hardware visible above the rim. Match Lit key valve can also be mounted inside the bowl.
• 18-Inch Penta Burner on 25-Inch Flat Pan -- The 18-inch 304 stainless steel Penta burner sits in a 25-inch 304 stainless steel flat pan. The burner features a raised central hub designed to prevent water entry into the gas line. The pan includes weep holes for drainage.
• Standard Penta Burner or Torpedo Burner Upgrade -- The standard configuration uses an 18-inch Penta burner. The Torpedo burner upgrade applies HPC's patented nozzle technology to the Penta burner for taller, fuller flames and higher BTU output on EI configurations.

INSTALLATION NOTE: The bowl must be placed on a level surface with adequate drainage at the installation site. Ventilation must remain unobstructed. A certified gas technician must make all gas connections. A certified electrician must install all AC electrical connections for EI models. Fire Bowl EI (SEDO40-EI) requires 120VAC or 24VAC power. Fire & Water Bowl EI (SEDO40W-EI) requires 12VAC power -- do not use standard 120VAC with the Fire & Water configuration. All gas connections must comply with local codes. Natural gas supply pressure: minimum 3.5 in WC, maximum 7.0 in WC. Liquid propane supply pressure: minimum 8.0 in WC, maximum 11.0 in WC. Do not cover burner orifices when placing fire rock or fire glass. Fire rock must be placed on the burner first; fire glass is placed over and around the fire rock. The burner's raised central hub is designed to prevent water entry into the gas line -- do not block it with fire media.
