There is a sauna silhouette that reads as right before you even open the door -- the peaked roof, the cedar walls, the front windows on either side of the door, the cabin proportions that look less like an accessory added to a property and more like something that was always supposed to be there. The Leisurecraft CT Georgian Cabin Electric Heated Sauna delivers exactly that. It is a house-shaped, handcrafted Eastern White Cedar cabin sauna that seats five to six people, takes an electric heater from the Leisurecraft lineup, and arrives in kit form ready to be assembled on whatever base you put it on. The wood is Canadian. The roof is Canadian steel. The craftsmanship is what comes from a company that has been building outdoor sauna structures in Melancthon, Ontario long enough to know what lasts.

 

The structure is built from Premium Grade A Eastern White Cedar single-stave bevels throughout -- the exterior wall material, the interior wall and ceiling tongue-and-groove boards, and the L-shaped two-tier bench system that runs across the back wall with a return configurable on the left or right side. Eastern White Cedar is the material that built Leisurecraft's reputation: lighter in tone and with tighter, finer knots than darker cedar species, naturally resistant to moisture and insects, and possessed of the fiber spacing that gives it the heat retention and aromatic character that define what a cedar sauna smells like when it is running. The interior surfaces are cedar throughout -- no composites, no synthetic panels, nothing that would off-gas at sauna temperatures.

 

The roof is 28-gauge textured black steel manufactured in Hamilton, Ontario, installed as structural panels over the peaked gable frame. It is not a rain cover and not a tarp -- it is a proper metal shingle roof that handles rain, snow, and sun without requiring removal or seasonal covering. The corners are classic dovetail joinery, which locks the wall sections together without exposed fasteners at the joint and creates both the structural rigidity and the traditional cabin look that distinguishes the Georgian from every flat-sided box sauna in its class.

 

The CTC88E is configured for electric heat. A heater is selected at time of order from Leisurecraft's full lineup of compatible options, sized appropriately for the Georgian's 343 cubic foot interior at 7.5kW to 9kW. The "No Heater" option is also available for buyers who have sourced their own unit. All final electrical connections must be completed by a certified electrician on a 240V, 30 to 50 amp circuit depending on the heater selected. The front door is a cedar-framed unit with 5mm bronze tempered glass, pre-hung on the front wall, with two matching bronze tempered glass windows flanking it for natural light and ventilation. The solid wood magnetic door handle keeps the door closed without metal hardware in the heat zone.

 

Optional add-ons -- a covered front porch with cedar floor and built-in seating (adding 29 inches of depth) and a changeroom with built-in benches (adding 48 inches of depth) -- are available to configure the Georgian into a full backyard wellness cabin at time of order. Assembly typically takes two to three days with two people and ships freight to the end of the driveway.
