The Leisurecraft CT Georgian Cabin Wood-Burning Sauna is that sauna. Handcrafted in Canada from sustainably sourced Eastern White Cedar, the Georgian arrives with the silhouette of a classic cottage outbuilding -- a peaked gable roof, dovetail corner joinery, a cedar-framed glass door, and two front windows that let light move through the space without sacrificing privacy. It is not a barrel. It is not a prefab box. It is a proper cabin sauna, and it reads that way from the moment you set it on its foundation.

 

The structure is built from premium Grade A Eastern White Cedar single-stave bevels -- the same cedar prized for its light tone, tight knots, and exceptional heat retention. Eastern White Cedar has a natural fiber spacing that allows the wood to absorb and radiate heat more effectively than denser species, which means the sauna gets to temperature efficiently and holds it. The walls, ceiling, and benches are all Eastern White Cedar tongue-and-groove boards. The corners are cut with classic dovetail joinery, which locks the wall sections together with no fasteners at the joint, creating both a tight thermal seal and the clean, traditional look that defines the Canadian Timber Collection. The roof is 28-gauge textured black steel, made in Canada, and designed to shed water, hold up to snow loads, and maintain its finish through years of outdoor exposure.

 

Inside, the Georgian accommodates 5 to 6 people on open-concept L-shaped two-tier benches set against the back wall with a return that can be configured on the left or right side. Interior height runs nearly 98 inches floor to ceiling, with 70 inches of clearance at the bench level -- a comfortable, breathable working height that gives the space an open feel. The door is a cedar-framed unit with 5mm bronze tempered glass, pre-hung on the front wall for installation straight from the crate. The two front windows are also 5mm bronze tempered glass, matching the door and providing ambient light without compromising heat retention. The solid wood door handle keeps the door closed magnetically, with no metal hardware exposed to the heat.

 

The CTC88W is configured for wood-burning heat -- the authentic, traditional sauna experience that produces the deep, enveloping heat and the ability to pour water on the rocks for loyly that electric heaters approximate but never fully replicate. The heater, chimney, and safety accessories including the floor plate and back wall shield are sold separately, allowing you to choose the stove and venting configuration that fits your installation. The kit arrives in crate form with all structural components, hardware, and assembly instructions included. Assembly typically takes two to three days with two people and does not require professional construction experience.

 

The Georgian is built for the outdoors and designed to be a permanent addition to any property. A covered front porch (adding 29 inches of depth) and a changeroom with built-in benches (adding 48 inches of depth) are available as optional add-ons, allowing the structure to grow with how you use it. The base footprint -- 8 feet wide by 8 feet deep -- fits cleanly on a concrete pad, wood deck, patio stone, or compacted crushed stone base.
