The 12 by 12 St. Clair is the largest configuration in the lineup, and at that scale the pergola stops being an accessory and becomes the defining feature of an outdoor space. At 138 inches wide by 138 inches deep by 98 inches tall and 610 pounds of assembled HDPS poly lumber, the St. Clair 12 by 12 covers a full six-person outdoor dining table with room to move around it, anchors a large lounge arrangement, or marks a hospitality patio as a destination rather than a detail. It is the St. Clair for serious outdoor living spaces where the structure is expected to carry the weight of the whole design.

The material is what makes this possible in a poly lumber product. Sequoia builds the St. Clair from HDPS -- high-density polystyrene, their proprietary founding polymer and the only material they produce that is rigid enough to support a structural pergola frame at any size, let alone at 12 by 12. Outdoor pergolas are almost exclusively made from wood because the load-bearing requirements of an overhead frame exceed what standard poly lumber can handle. HDPS is not standard poly lumber. It is lighter and significantly more rigid than HDPE -- the material that dominates the outdoor furniture market -- specifically engineered for structural applications that softer polymers cannot reach. The 12 by 12 St. Clair is one of the largest poly lumber pergolas made by any producer anywhere. It is also one of the only ones.

The surface carries Sequoia's real wood grain embossing -- the finish that has earned consistent recognition across the industry as the most authentic wood appearance available in any poly lumber product. At 12 by 12, the structure reads from across a property as a handsome wood pergola. Up close it reads the same way. And unlike the wood pergola it resembles, it will not rot, warp, splinter, crack, or require any treatment at any point in its service life. The color -- Black, Weathered Acorn, or Coastal Teak -- is integral to the HDPS material, not a surface coating, and will not fade or peel regardless of UV load, rain, snow, or salt air exposure.
